EMT Original and Refresher courses offered

The city of Oswego Fire Department is offering EMT Original and Refresher courses that will begin on October 8. They will be conducted concurrently with sessions held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, testing out in March of 2014. Tuition for the EMT Original is $775, the Refresher is $335.

Buc Golfers Win First Match of the Year

The Oswego High School golf team knew wins would be tough to come by in the early part of the 2013 season. Starting with five away matches in eight days, the team was literally thrown into league competition, on courses with which they were unfamiliar. Though they played well, Oswego lost its first two matches by a combined 15 shots. That all changed on Thursday at Liverpool.

Oswego Board of Education Welcomes New Member

The Oswego City School District Board of Education will once again have seven active members. On September 10 Michael McLaughlin will take the oath of office to serve for the remainder of the 2013-14 school year as a member of the board of education. McLaughlin will be sworn in at the committee and regular meeting of the board at the Oswego High School Anthony J. Murabito Media Center.

Operation Christmas Child Packing Party in Oswego September 21

The packing has begun. Volunteers who have already sent more than 100 million Operation Christmas Child shoe box gifts filled with school supplies, hygiene items, and small toys for children in need in 130 countries since 1993 are packing again. Volunteer sites in Watertown and Oswego are hosting parties to fill more than 1,000 boxes to go to boys and girls ages 2-14 in areas of disease, disaster, poverty and hunger.
