I have visited Boldt’s Castle many times and have seen it go from a crumbling castle to one that is being upgraded. John especially loves the Yacht House where some of Boldt’s 57 boats are on display. What I didn’t realize until we stopped overnight on Wellesley Island is that there is an easy, less expensive way to visit the Yacht House and Boldt’s Castle.

Oswego Speedway’s Fall Championship Weekend open practice session has been canceled due to persistent rain showers. The Speedway’s schedule for tomorrow’s (Sept 14) Davis Bros. Inc. ‘Open-Wheel Fall Finals’ remains intact with pit gates opening for competitors at 10:30 a.m.

Barclay to Sponsor Legislation to Restore Hunting on SUNY ESF Grounds
In the wake of the announcement that SUNY ESF is now banning hunting on 5,300 acres of North Country territory, Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski) is sponsoring legislation next year to restore hunting rights on the popular site.

Prior to the start of the regular meeting BOCES District Superintendent Christopher Todd provided an update on the search for a new Oswego Superintendent of Schools. The deadline for applications was August 30. He noted that the goal is to have a new superintendent in place by January 1, 2014.

OHS Girls’ V’ball Downs C-NS
The Oswego girls’ volleyball team chalked up a victory while the girls soccer team lost a close one and jayvee teams proved competitive with the boys’ soccer players remaining unbeaten and the volleyball team showing improvement.
