The Oswego varsity football team had the best offensive display in years while the girls volleyball team earned a berth in the golf finals while the varsity soccer team lost to a close rival. In one of the highest scoring games in year the Oswego High School varsity football team rolled to a 56-8 victory at Watertown High School on Friday night.

For those interested in expanding or starting a small business in Oswego County, there is a small business training class scheduled to begin in November. The course is scheduled to begin November 7. The classes will be held at SUNY Oswego, 118 Rich Hall, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, November 7 through 26.

Flyin Phil, skating for the Boomtown Renegade Roughnecks in red, takes down the opposing jammer during a recent renegade-style roller derby tournament held in Parsippany, New jersey. Oz Roller Derby will debut this renegade-style of roller derby to the Port City this Saturday at the Oswego YMCA Armory.The Oz Roller Derby will debut the fast-moving, physical sport of co-ed renegade roller derby in the Port City on Saturday at the Oswego YMCA Armory. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the bout beginning at 6 p.m. Renegade roller derby is similar to, yet very different from, most popular versions of roller derby played in upstate New York.

Barclay Urges Governor to Sign Military Tax Exemption Legislation

Assemblyman Will Barclay called on Governor Cuomo today to sign legislation into law that would end a duplicative sales tax for members of the military. Barclay co-sponsored Assembly bill 6223, which exempts members of the military from having to pay sales and use tax on vehicles in New York upon returning to New York. This bill also passed the state Senate this year.
