Retired Fulton police officer Edward C. Hoffman died on Wednesday in his Florida home. He is being remembered as a street-wise police officer who shared his wisdom with fellow officers, and as a man who was always looking to help others.
The 22nd annual CNY Great Pumpkin Festival entertainment lineup features live bands both days. It will be held on Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the heart of Oswego at Washington Square Park.
Come to Oswego’s Historic Maritime District to see antique and modern fire and emergency equipment up close. On September 28 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., dozens of vehicles from across New York State, as well as Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts will be displayed along West First Street, from the Oswego Railroad Museum to the H. Lee White Museum and Maritime Center.
The boys varsity volleyball team remained unbeaten while the tennis team continued to improve and the jayvee teams for Oswego were in action. The Oswego varsity boys volleyball team remained unbeaten with a three-game sweep of Syracuse on Wednesday night at Powers Gymnasium.
Hundreds of families turned out for the Lanigan Elementary School Open House on Tuesday. Building principal Jeff Hendrickson along with classroom teachers and the district’s Director of Literacy and UPK, Carri Waloven, were on hand to talk to parents.
Granby Elementary School wrapped up the second week of the school year with a back to school kick-off celebration. Sponsored by the Granby Parent-Teacher Group, the celebration gathered the school’s entire learning community for a fun and engaging opportunity to celebrate the start of a new school year.
