‘Death in the OR’ Performance Date Added

Good news for the Oswego Players!  The 75th Anniversary Celebration Dinner is sold out. However, due to the enthusiastic response for tickets to Dr. Michael Nupuf’s play, “Death in the OR,” the Players will have a second performance of the show that was adapted from the bestselling book by Dr. John Fountain and Steve Abbott on August 24 at 2 p.m. at The American Foundry.

Oswego County Drug Task Force Joint Investigation Leads To Arrests

Three Fulton residents were recently arrested following a joint investigation conducted by members of the Oswego County Drug Task Force and the Fulton City Police Department after a search warrant was executed by the Fulton City Police, the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team, the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Oswego County Drug Task Force.

Oswego Museum Will Celebrate World War II Veterans

The H. Lee White Museum and Maritime Center will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the National Historic Landmark World War II tug LT-5 on Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Captain Lance Knapp will give a presentation at 2 p.m. on the tug’s World War II history, followed by a special celebration of World War II veterans

School Districts to Distribute School Supplies

Members of the Oswego County Stuff A Bus Committee meet to prepare for the upcoming school supply distributions.  Members present at time of photo from left are: Melanie Trexler, executive director of United Way and co-chair of the Stuff A Bus Program; Helen Hoefer, community services director at Catholic Charities of Oswego County; Jo Ann Conzone of the Oswego City School District and co-chair of the Stuff A Bus Program; Roger Sprague of the Oswego City School District, president of the Oswego City School District teachers' association and site coordinator for Oswego; Holly Bristol from Oswego County Opportunities; Laura Lloyd, Oswego County Opportunities OPTIONS case specialist; and Pat Crowe from APW.The Stuff-A-Bus campaign, which began this past spring and will culminate on August 14, was initiated to collect school supplies so that children in need throughout Oswego County would have the supplies they need to begin the new school year.  The United Way is soliciting area businesses and individuals and have arranged for eight busses to be located throughout Oswego County where people will be able to donate school supplies.
