UPDATE: A three-year-old child is dead following Saturday night’s fire, authorities said.The other occupants of the residence were able to get out on their own and no other injuries were reported.The fire was at 70 W. Mohawk St. The blaze was reported at about 8:42 p.m.

The H. Lee White Museum and Maritime Center, located on the West First Street Pier in Oswego’s Historic Maritime District, has extended hours to 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Sunday throughout July and August.
Oswego Health will once again lead off Harborfest’s Children Parade with its new start time and route on July 26. Once the parade arrives at its new destination, the health system will offer fun games and activities for children. This year’s parade begins at Breitbeck Park at 1:30 p.m. and proceeds along West Fifth Street to Franklin Square/West Park.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, a division of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, will hold four volunteer orientations at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays this summer for people 55 and older.
