APW Mock DWI Sends Emotional Message to Prom-Goers
Juniors and Seniors at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School were recent witnesses to a Mock DWI event at their high school, just days before their prom. The day’s event was a dramatization of something that happens at least 18 times each day – a teenager dies in a motor vehicle accident.

Volney Storytellers Share Tall Tales and Fables
Students from grades three through six at Volney Elementary School competed this week for the honor of representing their school at the upcoming Fulton City School District Storytelling Festival. Many hours of practice went into not only memorizing each story, but also working on getting the pauses, facial expressions and gestures that brought them to life exactly right.
Catholic Charities Expands Thrift Store Hours
In response to the increasing demand for access to Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s thrift store and food pantry, Helen Hoefer, supervisor of Community Services for Catholic Charities of Oswego County, has announced that the hours for both the agency’s thrift store and food pantry have been expanded.
Emergency Medical Services Week Set May 19 – 25
“One Mission: One Team” is the theme of this year’s Emergency Medical Services Week, taking place May 19 through 25. “This is a time to recognize those who we take for granted, our EMS workers,” said Zach Menter, vice president of Oswego County Ambulance Service based in Fulton. “People just assume that rescue and ambulance will always show up.”

Newest Oswego Middle School Ceremony Inducts 30
The NJHS was formed a year ago with two separate ceremonies for the seventh and eighth graders. However, recently the newest inductees were honored at ceremonies in the Oswego High School Robinson-Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts. “Scholarship, leadership, service, character and citizenship” are the pillars of the National Junior Honor Society.
