There will be a benefit December 7 from 1-6 p.m. at VFW Post 8823, Hastings/Parish for Wayne Derby. The 48-year-old friend, family and neighbor needs life-saving surgery.
Makynzie Jade Griffith, 14-month-old daughter of Ryan Wilcox and Jamie Griffith, passed away Thursday afternoon at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse.
The Oswego State men’s basketball defeated Lancaster Bible College 62-50 in the season opener as it hosted the Max Ziel Tournament on Friday night. Oswego will play Neumann University at 6 p.m. on Saturday in the championship game.
In May 1804, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark departed from St. Louis on an expedition commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson to explore the Louisiana Purchase. Along with them was their trusty black Newfoundland dog, Seaman. While there is no definitive proof that Seaman survived, surely Clark would have mentioned the death of his trusted friend.

The money will be used for a program that will align tobacco cessation resources and services for pregnant women and mothers of young children by working collaboratively with the Oswego County Health Department, primary care and ob-gyn providers and Oswego County Opportunities.
I would like to thank Ralph Stacey on his kind words in his concession letter. Ralph ran a clean and hard fought campaign and deserves a lot of credit for his efforts. I did like some of his ideas and will try to use them in the near future.
