Harborfest’s Novelis STEM Family Park has been awarded $5,000 by the Richard S. Shineman Foundation. This grant will allow the Novelis STEM Family Park to continue to grow its science, technology, engineering, and mathematics focus.

The state comptroller’s report listed the Oswego district as mid to mid-high level to being susceptible to fiscal stress. I am pleased to hear about the tax cuts for Upstate manufacturers. Cutting corporate taxes will give businesses more reason to stay as well as attract others. It was disappointing to hear so little about Central New York in the speech. I hope the budget reveals other details for our region.
Hannibal school personnel, community stakeholders, students and parents continued to lay the groundwork for the district’s future during a meeting recently among the Strategic Plan Committee’s three task forces. Divided into groups targeting student engagement, family/community engagement and academic achievement, the task forces delved into lengthy discussions to help develop a five-year blueprint for Hannibal schools.
