New York Sea Grant (NYSG) and SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations are launching a Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) Program to evaluate the local business climate and to assist existing recreation and tourism businesses with expansion in Oswego County.

Oswego County Opportunities, one of the top 10 largest private employers in Oswego County, has welcomed three new members to the agency’s staff. The new employees, who will join the OCO’s staff of human services professionals, recently completed the agency’s orientation process and will begin to serve consumers in their respective programs.
Emerson J. Dillon fifth-grade teacher Sandy Silky nominated Ashlyn Wallace for the recognition, which is a joint initiative between the district and SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the United Way and play a major role in success of many of the United Way’s initiatives and its annual campaign. On March 12, as part of the United Way of Greater Oswego County Annual Meeting, the United Way will pay tribute to its many volunteers.
SUNY Oswego’s Quest has chosen Bruce Coville, alumnus and famed author of books for children and young adults, as keynote speaker for the daylong celebration of scholarly and creative pursuits in April. Coville is scheduled to speak at 10 a.m. April 9, in the Campus Center auditorium. The session is free and open to the public, as are scores of presentations, exhibitions and demonstrations that day, most in the Campus Center.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Dan Farfaglia introduced Brandy Ermini. Brandy, representing Oswego, was a contestant in the Miss New York Teen USA Pageant held recently in Westchester NY.
Oswego County Opportunities, Inc., has received a $5,000 donation from G & C Foods in support of the agency’s annual bowling tournament fundraiser, according to Diane Cooper-Currier, executive director at OCO.
The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified home health care, long-term home health care, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
