John Sullivan Joins EffectiveNY

Students and staff at Pulaski High School signed up to give the gift of life during the National Honor Society’s Red Cross Blood Drive at the school.
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on March 23. Serving will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will be ziti and meatballs, vegetable and dessert.
Donations are not expected, but will be accepted.
Several members of the Pulaski Varsity Girls Volleyball team were recognized for their outstanding achievement during the recent season with league and section honors.
First graders in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District went on a wonderful adventure in their study of the constellations as part of the English Language Arts curriculum. The students enjoyed a presentation in the district’s own Star Lab, a mobile, domed planetarium that projects various scenes of the night sky onto the ceiling of the Star Lab.
The issue of what funding the city provides for the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce’s events returned to the floor this week at the Administrative Services Committee. The councilors approved moving ahead with funding for the events the chamber facilitates in the Port City.
This Saturday, at five o’clock, the Oswego High School varsity and jayvee winter guards will be hosting a Mid-York Color Guard competition. Guards will represent Baldwinsville, Liverpool, East Syracuse-Minoa, Jordan-Elbridge, New Hartford and host Oswego. The Oswego Varsity Guard is having an outstanding season and is competing in the top class.
The Bucs are currently ranked third in New York State.
“Hats Off to Reading” appreciation certificates were awarded to several Frederick Leighton Elementary School students as the members of the FLS Student Council took time to share some of their favorite Dr. Seuss stories with primary grade children.

Faculty and staff at Cayuga Community College have united to form a new organization called United Cayuga Professionals to facilitate transparency and clear communications within the college, while working on positive initiatives to bolster the work and learning environment for all on both of the college’s campuses.
