Youth Bureau Will Award Mini Grants for Youth Projects
The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is accepting applications for mini-grants for 2014. Not-for-profit community organizations can apply for up to $1,000 for activities for youth during hours when school is not in session.
Barbecue To Benefit Fulton History Group
There will be a chicken barbecue sponsored by Friends of History In Fulton on May 4.
It will benefit the John Wells Pratt House Museum, local history museum at 177 S. First St.
Serving will be from 11:30 a.m. until sold out at the Pavilion, Bullhead Point, Route 3 West.
Minetto United Methodist Church Plans Free Dinner
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on April 27 serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Donations are not expected but will be accepted.
Disconnect Launches Prog-rock Sideman into Spotlights
John Wesley doesn’t wait long to take charge on his new album, Disconnect, stepping out of the sideman role and into the spotlight on his first solo release since 2011’s EP the lilypad suite and first full-length effort since Shiver in 2005. As has been the case on each of his previous four albums and three EPs, the Tampa, Florida guitarist/vocalist continues to push the boundaries of his music.
Oswego County Household Hazardous Waste Facility Opens May 3
County residents will be able to safely dispose of unwanted chemicals, pesticides, and other hazardous waste products beginning May 3 at the Oswego County Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Facility. Located at the Bristol Hill Landfill, Volney, the facility will be open Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 to 11 a.m. from May through September.
