SUNY Oswego students collected six awards at the fifth annual SUNYwide Film Festival and Symposium held in April at SUNY Fredonia. Peter Myers’ animated film “Gone Fishing” won first place in the animation category.

The H. Lee White Marine Museum will present the play “The Great Rope” written by Rosemary Nesbitt and directed by Jonel Langenfeld this summer on August 2, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Fort Ontario parade grounds. This production is a collaboration between the maritime museum, Fort Ontario State Historic Site and CNY Arts Center.
Oswego Speedway and AsphaltVision announced on Friday their partnering HD video streaming Pay-Per-View schedule for the 2014 Speedway season, which will encompass a total of 16 events including nine live broadcasts. With nine events being broadcast live, utilizing a multi-camera high definition shoot, the remaining seven events will be available on a tape delay basis ready for air the day after the scheduled event.
Area runners and walkers can support Oswego Health’s cancer outreach and educational support services, as they participate in the health system’s annual Charity Walk/Run on May 17. The event is dedicated to those in our community who have been affected by cancer.
