Otto Sitterly, JJ Andrews Lead Abbreviated Open Testing at Oswego Speedway

Otto Sitterly had two Nicotra Racing Supermodifieds on hand at Oswego Speedway's Open Practice session on Saturday. Sitterly set the fastest time of the day at 17.514 seconds.Despite gray skies and intermittent rain showers, just over 20 racecars took to Oswego Speedway on Saturday for their first laps of the 2014 season. A total of 13 Pathfinder Bank Small Block Supers, seven Novelis Supermodifieds, and two ISMA Supermodifieds came through the main gate with each group receiving one full hot lap session. The threat for inclement weather forced officials to move the start time for the test sessions up to 12:30 p.m., and shortly after taking the initial green flag rain moved into the area causing a lengthy delay.

Plattsburgh Tops Laker Nine In Extras

The Oswego State baseball team fell 9-6 at the hands of Plattsburgh in a 10-inning game on Saturday afternoon at Laker Baseball Field. All three of the contests between the Cardinals and Lakers in the weekend series went to extra frames. With the loss, Oswego drops to 19-10 overall and 10-8 in SUNYAC action while Plattsburgh moves to 12-21, 7-11.

Section 8 Rental Assistance Housing Choice Voucher Program and How Congressional Sequestration Hurts Oswego

The city of Oswego Community Development Office has administered a Section 8 Rental Assistance Program for Oswego’s low income renters since 1976. In 2013, the Congress implemented “sequestration cuts” that impacted rental assistance programs across the county, cutting more than 70,000 rental vouchers for families nationwide and exacerbating homelessness in America.
