UPK Students Get Up Close with Reptiles

During Older Americans Month, the Fulton Family YMCA encourages all adults 50 years and older in Fulton, to develop behaviors that are crucial to healthy aging, including healthy eating, increasing physical activity and social interaction.
The Oswego Youth Court program will hold a training program for new members from July 14 to 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Oswego City Hall. Students in grades 7 through 12 are eligible to apply for the Youth Court training.

The community is invited to watch a recently released movie at First United Church of Fulton, 33 S. Third St., on May 18 at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
Oswego Kartway will try yet again to complete its first event of the season this coming Friday presented by Gater News. Last Friday night’s action saw a total of 89 karts in attendance with 11 of 18 heat races being completed before a heavy rain shower soaked the Kartway racing surface just prior to 8 p.m.
As in the past years, the event will feature the biggest and the best Saturday morning parade, local music groups, a great food court, drinks, rides and fireworks. All entertainment is offered free to the public. The theme for 2014 is “Showing Gratitude To Our Veterans.”
The Oswego High School Student Council raised $2,500 organizing a faculty dodge ball tournament in which all proceeds went to Cooper Levine.
HERO students recently finished a project that took them out of their classroom and on the job site at A.A. Cole Elementary School in the Central Square Central School District. The students, in cooperation with the North Shore Junior Baseball League, refurbished the baseball diamond located adjacent to the school.
City leaders are moving the ALDI food store project closer to fruition as the Planning Commission got its first look at the proposed zoning for the former Nestle site on Monday (May 12).
Board member Dennis Merlino summed up the sentiment of the discussion when he said, “We’re making the new face of Fulton.”
