This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Friends of Oswego County Hospice’s premier fundraising event. On June 7, the event filled-day will recognize 25 years of Oswego County Hospice’s comprehensive, supportive services to patients and families at the end of life and throughout the grieving process.
They read to Minetto School students and their parents recently, to help launch the Minetto School’s annual “People As Reading Partners” Program. This program runs for a three-week period with students reading with a partner at home for 15 minutes per day, 5 days per week.
Nine area Girl Scouts were among the 31 council-wide that earned the Girl Scout Gold Award this year, the highest award a Girl Scout can earn. The girls were recognized at a Young Women of Distinction reception on Saturday for their accomplishment.
The first 250 mothers that walk into the Speedway’s main gate on Saturday will be presented with a beautiful carnation from Oswego Speedway and Designs of Elegance.
Civil Air Patrol NY-408, F.R. Sussey Composite Squadron will host a Mother’s Day pancake breakfast. It will be presented by: Civil Air Patrol’s F. R. Sussey Composite Squadron and EAA Chapter 486 on May 11.

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Peggy Donnelly was presented with the District 7150 Rotarian of Excellence Award.
After two weeks of rains and wet grounds, Oswego Kartway will take another shot at opening their championship point season this Friday. Nearly 80 entries are expected this coming Friday at the Bullring, as teams prepare to earn points for season long track championship honors and other season ending awards.
