Just recently, my colleagues and I wrapped up the 2014 Legislative Session in Albany. As State Senator, my top priority is creating more opportunities for the people who live in our region and I’m pleased to report that in the past several months, we have made significant strides towards doing just that.
North Bay Campgrounds will host its seventh annual Fishing Derby on Lake Neahtahwanta on June 28 from 9 a.m. until noon. Registration desk opens at 8:30 a.m.
The Oswego Public Library’s Library Learning Center will offer a four-part Introduction to Computers workshop on July 7, 14, 21 and 28. Each class is free and runs from 10 a.m. to noon.
Alyssa Stout, from Pulaski, was one of 699 students who received a degree from Buena Vista University at its commencement ceremonies on May 24.

The fire department will lease the ambulance for six days to help augment coverage during next month’s Harborfest celebration. The vote wasn’t unanimous as some councilor took issue with the lateness of the request and the amount of overtime that would be generated.
