Air Force Airman 1st Class Ty R. Barker graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The following students have been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2014 semester at Clarkson University:
Two of the newcomers, Doug Schneider and Leah Mullen, are slated to play the lead roles of Shrek and Princess Fiona. The pair are appearing for the first time with Oswego Children’s Theater however, they are no strangers to the stage as both have appeared in a number of productions.

The vehicle did not have registration plates affixed to it nor has it been positively identified at this time as to its registered owner. Merlyn Fuller, known to visitors at the Sterling Renaissance Festival as Merry Mischief, has recently published her first book – Fairy Tales & Horror Stories: A Memoir, recalling her North Country childhood and her counter-cultural adulthood. Her music and a book reading will take place June 14 at Fulton’s Arts in the HeART Gallery, at 47 S. First St., across from the city’s gazebo.
The year-end ceremony recognized nearly 80 students who completed one year of study in the OCB New Vision Allied Health, Law and Government, and Specialized Careers programs. Each offering provided high school seniors with a chance to explore different career fields, with classroom learning coupled with twice-weekly rotations at various sites across the county.
Students in teacher Joshua Osborne’s class at Granby Elementary recently studied a unit on animal responses. Students observed live lobsters and crayfish and made predictions on which was the fastest, based on their size and health.
Parents and family members along with BOCES and component school district officials gathered for the distinguished ceremony to celebrate students’ accomplishments and educational achievements as they prepare for careers in police science, security, surveillance, corrections, emergency medical response, firefighting and the military.
