This Father’s Day, we celebrate all the men in our lives and many men in Oswego area who take on the role of Fresh Air father, as they open their hearts to New York City children through The Fresh Air Fund’s Volunteer Host Family Program.
Levi Warren Maynard of Fulton was found guilty of sex offenses committed against a five-year-old girl in October 2012. A jury in Cayuga County Court returned a verdict June 11 finding Maynard guilty of the three crimes charged in the indictment, to wit: Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is excited about a new opportunity available to kids and families to help them attend Camp Hollis this summer! Families who qualify can send their 9- to 14-year-old children to camp for a week at no cost to the family. Oswego County families that fall under the 200 percent poverty guidelines may qualify for assistance with camp fees.
When Congress enacted the Older Americans Act to address the social services needs of older people it was seen as a major vehicle for promoting the delivery of social services to seniors. Its mission was to help older people maintain maximum independence in their homes and communities and to promote a continuum of care for the vulnerable elderly.
