Girl Scouts Donate Activity Bags to Oswego Hospital Emergency Department
To help children feel more comfortable when seeking care at Oswego Hospital’s emergency department, the Girl Scouts from the Oswego Service Unit, which includes a Minetto troop, made and donated activity bags. The scouts collected coloring books, crayons, puzzle books, writing utensils, stickers and a small toy for each of the 100 activity bags they donated.
Eagle Scout Creates ‘Welcome’ Sign For Hannibal
Hannibal Boy Scout Troop 780 dedicated the new Welcome sign in Hannibal on Memorial Day. Life Scout Nate LaRock constructed the sign as his Eagle project. The sign is located on land owned by Dick Patane in front of Freedom real estate.

Workforce New York Featured At Rotary
Fulton Rotary Club member Steve Osborne introduced Chad Whelsky from Workforce New York, at a recent Rotary Club meeting. Chad said that the purpose of Workforce New York is to put people to work and keep them in Oswego County.
SUNY Oswego to offer free high school Summer Robotics Institute in July
The SUNY Oswego Summer Robotics Institute will run 9 a.m. to noon each day, helping students learn how robots work and interact, as well as about building and programming them. The institute, held in the year-old Richard S. Shineman Center for Science, Engineering and Innovation, is free.
Morningstar Residential Care Supports Relay for Life
Morningstar Residential Care Center in Oswego recently hosted a chicken BBQ fundraiser for the upcoming Relay for Life event. The facility’s kitchen staff prepared full BBQ chicken dinners that were available to all staff members. All proceeds from the event benefited the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
Ritskes, Locke Racing Collect Novelis Supermodified Spring Championship at Oswego Speedway
In November of last year it was announced that Randy Ritskes would join New Hampshire based Locke Racing for a run at the 2014 Oswego Speedway Novelis Supermodified championship. On Saturday night Ritskes took his first official swing at the title, collecting the Spring Championship crown at the ‘Steel Palace’
Phelps Rockets To Fulton Speedway Modified Win
According to the “Rocket” Ryan Phelps the start of the 2014 season wasn’t up to his and his team standards. All that changed Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway for the popular driver as he went to victory lane in the 35-Lap Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modified feature.
