Organizations from around Oswego County have voiced their support of Lou Anne Rucynski Coleman for family court judge in recent weeks. Coleman has been endorsed by Democratic committees from the city of Fulton and the town of Granby and most recently the county’s Democratic Action Women’s Network, DAWN.

For several years the Youth Group at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church has attended Reach Work Camp during the summer. Reach, a nationwide youth mission, is now in its 22nd year and is designed to provide teens with an opportunity to help the elderly, handicapped and needy families who need repairs done on their homes.
The purpose of this new chapter of the code is to establish a program for identifying and registering vacant buildings, to determine the responsibilities of the owners of vacant buildings and structures and to facilitate the rehabilitation of the vacant properties, explained Connie Cosemento, Quality of Life Committee chairperson. Currently, the only part of the city code dealing with such properties states that a vacant property must be sealed, she pointed out.
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Fulton is investigating a burglary to Riccelli Enterprises, (Formerly The Northern Group) located at 32 Silk Road, in the Town of Volney. A substantial amount of cash was stolen from within a building on the property.

Bridget Izyk, 89, a resident of Murray Street, Oswego, passed away Tuesday August 19, 2014, at St. Luke Health Services.
Mayor Tom Gillen is pleased to announce the appointment of Ronald G. Tesoriero Jr. as the new Plumbing Inspector for the city of Oswego. The Common Council passed Resolution No. 337c on July 28 officially appointing Tesoriero as the city’s Plumbing Inspector, effective August 11, 2014. He replaces Robert T. (Chow) Culeton, who recently resigned from the position, which he held since 2001.
