Bridget Izyk, 89

OSWEGO, NY – Bridget Izyk, 89, a resident of Murray Street, Oswego, passed away Tuesday August 19, 2014, at St. Luke Health Services.

Born in Warsaw, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Victoria (Zirbora) Dudek.

She worked in the cafeteria at Oswego High School.

She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She also enjoyed cooking and making Polish food for the festivals.

She was a member of St. Stephen’s Church and its Altar Rosary Society.

Surviving are her three sons, Edward Izyk, James Izyk and Timothy (Denise) Izyk, all of Oswego; eight grandchildren, Monica Roik, Ronald Roik, Bridget Wallace, Austin Izyk, Dalton Izyk, Chase Izyk, Hunter Izyk and Dawson Izyk; a great-grandson, Easton Wallace; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Izyk; and her daughter, Bertha Roik Izyk.

Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
