‘Stuff-A-Bus’ is a community-wide campaign that aims to relieve the financial stress for local families by getting students prepared with the gear they will need for back-to-school. The Fulton City School District Teachers’ Association, in cooperation with the United Way of Oswego County, coordinates the initiative for the Fulton community, which in 2013 provided 211 students with essential back-to-school supplies.

G. Ray Bodley High School seniors are reminded that retakes for their Fultonian yearbook senior portraits will be taking place on August 27 at the high school. School Pictures of Rochester will be at GRB from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the auditorium.
The Fulton City School District , in partnership with its Community Schools Initiative Grant Partners, will host a Community School Kickoff Carnival on August 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fulton Junior High School. Governor Andrew Cuomo launched the Community Schools initiative as a way to transform schools in distressed communities into hubs for a wide range of support services for children and their families.
State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced she has secured $84,000 to help support music and arts programs in Central and Northern New York schools. Among the schools that will benefit from the funds are: Hannibal, Fulton and Mexico.

Celebrating Magic In Minetto was held on Aug. 9, during Canal Splash. Canal Splash is a statewide Erie/Oswego Canalwide promotion by the NYS Canal Corp highlighting activities and events on the canals. It is always held on the second Saturday of August. The presentation of the canal scene mural, painted by AmeriCorps artists, was a highlight of Magic in Minetto.
The Oswego Lions Club will present the ninth annual “Cow Chip Bingo” with Classic Car Show on September 13 at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego. The Cow Chip Bingo portion of the day will begin at noon. We will also feature Lighthouse Lanes famous chicken Bar-B-Q being served from noon to 4 p.m. or until sold out. Proceeds from the Cow Chip Bingo portion will be used to support our annual scholarship fund in memory of Harold “H” and Mary Dowd.
