How Many Politicians Does It Take To Change A Light Bulb?

The city of Fulton could save a quarter-million dollars each year with more energy efficient street lights but a state roadblock makes it impossible for the local municipality to make the change. “It’s wrong,” Fulton resident Dennis Merlino said. “We should be allowed to change a light bulb.”

DSS Goes Purple for Domestic Violence Month

In recognition of October being Domestic Violence Month, employees from the Oswego County Department of Social Services donned purple shirts, to raise awareness of domestic violence in Oswego County and support the efforts of Oswego County Opportunities’ Services to Aid Families program. To raise awareness and funds for SAF, DSS Senior Social Welfare Examiner Stephanie Hoxie, along with senior team members Linda Rebbette and Jackie Koster, coordinated a drive to sell purple T-shirts emblazoned with “Break the Silence…Stop the Violence” to DSS employees.

Sybarite 5 to perform repertoire from Radiohead to Mozart at SUNY Oswego

String quintet Sybarite 5 will bring its eras-bridging style to SUNY Oswego at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29, at Sheldon Hall ballroom as part of the Ke-Nekt Chamber Music Series. The group has taken audiences by storm across the U.S., helping change the perception of chamber music performance, event organizers said. Critics say that from the moment their bows hit the strings, this quintet of talented, diverse musicians takes the audience on an exciting ride that engages the senses and redefines the rules.

The fall is a busy season for the Boosters. Football and soccer keep the Booster Club pretty busy, and resources can run thin. Having the assist from the Lions Club allows us to provide better service to the community, our school and our athletes. The Lions Club is a great asset to the Fulton community and to the Boosters Club.
