A search warrant was executed on the residence of Martin E. Madden in the town of Volney following an investigation conducted by the Oswego County Drug Task Force, the Fulton City Police Department and the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department. The search warrant reportedly resulted in the discovery of 27 marihuana plants and more than two pounds of processed marihuana and fireworks within his residence and outbuildings, it was announced Oct. 22.
The National Park Service today (Oct. 22) announced that it has listed the New York State Barge Canal on the National Register of Historic Places. The designation recognizes the New York State Canal System as a nationally significant work of early twentieth century engineering and construction that affected transportation and maritime commerce for nearly half a century.
Sonja Ann “Nee” (Robinson) Bradshaw, 76, of Alexandria Bay, NY, passed away on Monday October 20, 2014, in her home, surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer.
Oswego County Traffic Safety Board and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee are sponsoring a certification class for new child passenger technicians in November. Students will receive a two-year, national certification, renewable on-line and with community involvement in child passenger safety checks.
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County is pleased to announce the sixth annual Oswego County Holiday Farmers’ Market will be held on December 6 as part of the “Christmas in Mexico” festivities. The community is encouraged to visit the market and find great holiday gifts, decorations and food from local farmers.
