OCO Services To Aid Families Receives Grant From Mary Kay Foundation
Oswego County Opportunities’ Services to Aid Families Program in Oswego received a $20,000 grant from The Mary Kay Foundation as part of the organization’s annual Shelter Grant program to maintain critical services and programs. The Mary Kay Foundation awarded a total of $3 million in funding to 150 domestic violence shelters in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Guam in advance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October.

Harvest Dinner and Bazaar Set In Fulton
State Street United Methodist Church will be holding its annual harvest dinner and bazaar on November 1. The dinner, which will run from 4-7 p.m., will include turkey, all the trimmings, dessert and beverage.
Paws-of-Plenty Harvest Dinner slated at AO of Hibernians
On November 1, the AO of Hibernians in Oswego will host the Paws-of-Plenty Harvest Dinner. The dinner will begin at 1 p.m. and will end when all dinners are sold. In addition to dinner, items from Oswego local businesses will be raffled off and there will be baked goods for sale at the desert table. Tickets are $10 for a turkey or ham dinner either dine-in or carry-out on the day of the event.
Oswego County Begins Demolition of ‘Old Jail’ – DMV and Records Center Open for Business
The Oswego County Department of Motor Vehicles and County Records Center on East River Road will remain open for business over the next several weeks as contractors begin the demolition of the old Oswego County jail. County Clerk Michael C. Backus said parking spots on the north side of the “old jail” building will be restricted while the building is being demolished. The demolition project is expected to begin Oct. 20 and continue through late November.

Oswego’s loss is its first on the conference slate this season, dropping to 2-1-3 in SUNYAC action and 5-5-3 overall. The Bengals advance to 5-6-2 on the year and 2-3-0 in conference.
