Councilors took the community development director to task Monday night for a lack of communication and other issues in the wake of a state audit. Communication between the Common Council and the Community Development Office, “quarterly reports, monthly reports, expenditures and those types of things have all kind of fallen through as far as we haven’t really gotten them, we haven’t seen them come through,” according to Council Vice President Eric VanBuren. A recent audit done by the state raised a couple red flags – both with Community Development, he added.
Local bed and breakfast owner Anne Hutchins always wanted to be the proprietor of a place like River Edge Mansion and in 2007 she and her husband Steve moved into the historic Schroeppel homestead to do just that.

Representatives from Oswego County were recently invited to present at the New York State Canal Conference in Geneva. The theme for this year’s conference was “In Harmony with Nature, People and Products.” Participants came from across the state to hear speakers address a number of topics at the three-day event.
The annual Salmon River Festival returns to Pulaski over Columbus Day weekend. From October 10 to 12, enjoy indoor and outdoor activities at a variety of venues throughout the village. The weekend kicks off with a “meet-and-greet” at the River House Restaurant on Salina Street from 4 to 6 p.m. on October 10.
Phoenix Central School District’s junior class will hold a craft show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11 at John C. Birdlebough High School. More than 50 vendors will set up shop at the event.
