Matt Sheppard lived up to his nickname ‘Super Matt’ Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway winning his first ever Sunoco Fulton Ethanol Facility Outlaw 200 presented by SUNY Canton. Sheppard took the lead from early leader Billy Decker on lap-23 and from there would never give up the top spot over the final 177 laps.

Youth Bureau Announces Next Round of Grants for Youth Development Projects

Not –for-profit organizations have until Nov. 7 to apply for grant funds through the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. State Comptroller: Inmate Hospital Fees Need Better Controls

Inmate hospital cost controls were not billed accurately 90 percent of the time for Oswego and seven other counties according to the state comptroller’s audit released Sunday (Oct. 5), and counties are not billing for federal money resulting in a loss of $46,352 in reimbursements. Meanwhile, NYS Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s audit lauded Oswego and Chautauqua counties for “negotiated outpatient hospital service rate discounts with local hospitals and providers, ranging from 5 percent to 50 percent.”

Oswego City-County Youth Bureau Accepting Reservations for Camp Facilities

The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is taking reservations for Camp Hollis and Camp Zerbe for the 2015 season. Camp Hollis and Camp Zerbe are owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. The facilities are available May through October for use by families, wedding parties, youth groups, clubs, school groups and other organizations.

On October 18, First United Church of Fulton, 33 S. Third St., will offer a community spaghetti dinner from 5 p.m. until sold out. The menu will include: salad, spaghetti, meatballs, dinner roll, dessert, and hot and cold drinks. The adult cost is $8. Children under 12 are $6. Money raised will go toward meeting the needs of the church kitchen.
