The Eastern College Athletic Conference has named Sarah Grupp, of the Oswego State women’s soccer team, its Division III Upstate Rookie of the Week for the week ending September 28, 2014. This is Grupp’s second honor of the week as its follows the SUNYAC recognizing her as its Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
North Country Library System honored Marian Stanton, president of the board of trustees at the Fulton Public Library, as “Trustee of the Year” at its annual meeting on September 27.
With the 2014 Oswego Speedway season in the books, focus now to shifts to the Mitchell’s Speedway Press Oswego Speedway Hall of Fame Banquet set to be hosted by the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center on November 1. The event center is part of the Best Western PLUS Captain’s Quarters and Quality Inn and Suites complex located on East First Street.

Parents of Special Children, Inc. again hosted its annual barbecue at Douglaston Manor in Pulaski on Sept. 6. This is the fifth annual backyard barbecue hosted by the Barclay family and has become a tradition for many area families who benefit from services provided by Parents of Special Children, Inc., a local service and social network organization for families that have children with special needs.
The Pulaski Historical Society will host a Salmon River Festival Yard Sale at the museum on October 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Items being offered for sale will include an antique table, chairs, saws, costume jewelry, books and more. All proceeds go to support the work of the Historical Society.
