Lake Neatahwanta Sludge Market Tested; Dredger Back In Action This Week
“I don’t know how successful marketing this will be,” the mayor said during an interview with Oswego County Today in October. “I can’t imagine it doesn’t have some value to it. If the farmers can grow onions and lettuce on it for 100 years they ought to be able to use it now for topsoil.”
State Offices Closures In Storm Areas
In light of the weather conditions associated with the continuing winter storm, state offices in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Franklin, Genesee, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego, and Wyoming counties will be closed on Thursday, November 20. A directed early departure for non-essential employees is hereby granted and employees do not have to charge credits.

Music Instrument Covers was named the 2014 “Next Great Idea” Oswego County Business Competition winner at a reception held Nov. 13, at The Lake Ontario Event & Conference Center, Oswego. The company was awarded $25,000 to start their business in Oswego County.
Supporting United Way
Several Rotary club members attended the United Way’s Stone Soup Luncheon to present the agency with a check for $250 and several boxes of food for distribution to area food pantries.
Hannibal Students Participate In All-State Music Festival
Students from Hannibal High School participated in the New York State School Music Association Zone IV Area All-State festival at Oswego High School on November 13 and 14. Students were selected based upon past solo festival scores and were assigned to band, chorus or orchestra
CNY Arts Center Hosts Holiday Open House Weekend
Celebrating a new location, CNY Arts Center will host two holiday open houses and an Author Spotlight this weekend beginning November 22 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the downtown Arts in the HeArt Gallery. New art with handmade original gifts will be available. The gallery located at 47 S. First St. will remain open at least through the holidays.
