Norman W. Kesterke, 80

FULTON, NY – Norman W. Kesterke, 80, of Fulton, passed away Monday November 17, 2014, at Oswego Hospital.

Born in Fulton on August 28, 1934, Norman was the son of the late Donald and Gertrude Case Kesterke.

He had graduated from Fulton High School in 1952 and later received his bachelor’s degree from Union College in 1956.

Norman was the president and owner of D-K Manufacturing Corp. in Fulton.

He was also extremely active and took tremendous pride in serving his community.

He was a past board member of the Fulton Youth Hockey and Youth Soccer clubs, the Fulton Family YMCA and Fulton Savings Bank.

Norman was also a past member of Industrial Management Council as well as The United Way.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fulton and had served many years on the board of directors.

Norman’s tireless dedication was also part of his home life.

He cherished the countless opportunities he spent with his family, where everyone enjoyed boating and the serenity of his camp.

Norman will be greatly missed and forever loved by his wife, Sally; children, Pam (Roger) Mirabito, Don (Sue) Kesterke, Rick (Mickii) Kesterke, Darlene (Shawn) Palmatier and Dave (Cindy) Kesterke; sister, Phyllis Sommers; 10 grandchildren, Liz, Abbey, Lauren, Mackenzie, Lilia, Bradi, Ryan, Taylor, Kayley and Brenden; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton.

Burial will be at Mount Adnah Cemetery.

Calling hours will be conducted 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

Contributions in memory of Norman, may be made to The United Way of Greater Oswego County, 1 So. First St., Fulton 13069.

  1. Sally, I Googled “Oswego” to see how bad the snow was and saw the obituary for your husband. I am so sorry for your loss. It looks like you have a big family with a lot of support. I haven’t been up north since my parents moved to Florida so don’t keep in touch with anyone except a Christmas card to Carol and Roy each year. Seeing your name brought back a lot of memories. Again, I want to extend my condolences to you and all of your family.

  3. Sally and family I am so sorry to hear this sad news. My prayers go out to you and your family. I am so glad I was home last year and was able to spend some time with you and Norm. You have such a beautiful family.
