Continuing her strong commitment to local libraries, State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced $50,000 in special funding to make much needed repairs and upgrades to the Mexico Public Library.
“These grants are vital to preserve older, historic libraries like ours and they allow us to add and enhance services for our many patrons. We greatly appreciate Senator Ritchie’s efforts to secure this funding and we are thankful for her continued support for local libraries,” said Julie Forbes, president of the Mexico Public Library.

The Oswego Public Library’s Library Learning Center will offer a four-part EBay Basics workshop on December 8, 15, 22 and 29. Each class is free and runs from 10 a.m. to noon. Topics covered by the instructor include: creating an account, listing items, successful selling tips, and troubleshooting.
A tremendous crowd gathered on Sunday at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego to recognize and honor the record number of competitors that participated in the 2014 racing season at Oswego Kartway. A grand total of 16 champions were crowned between the regular season and RJ Kart Sales Fall Frenzy Series championships.

The pair has been cast as Henry II and Queen Eleanor in the forthcoming Oswego Players’ production of “The Lion in Winter.” The play is being directed by Richard Mosher.

Pat and Jay Chapman. CHCANYS serves as the voice of community health centers as leading providers of primary health care in New York State.
The State Employees Federal Appeal committee has once again teamed up with Oswego State Athletics to hold the annual canned food and toy drive and holiday skate events. On Friday and Saturday, canned goods and toys will be collected at both the men’s and women’s hockey games. The women take on Potsdam Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. The men play in a SUNYAC faceoff against Brockport 7 p.m. on Friday.
