The 11th annual Oswego High School Bake Sale Competition will be held on November 20 during the parents’ open house at the high school from 6-8 p.m. The competition will include students from the five classes of OHS Inc., who will run a bake sale like a business.
Fall is the time of year when many graduating high school seniors start to look toward the future. According to the New York State Education Department, in 2010, 82% of high school graduates in New York entered post-secondary education which includes either two- or four-year institutions. In order to attend, most students will apply for some type of financial aid whether it is in the form of student loans or scholarships or a combination of both.
Fulton Pop Warner’s Pee Wee football team rolled past the Southwest Colts (Rochester) Saturday at Union College, 34-12. Fulton (10-2) wasted no time showing they were the dominant team after taking the opening kickoff and putting together an 11-play drive capped by an eight-yard touchdown run by Ryan Gugula.
Here it is November with snow and a smallish cat just showed up on my back porch a few days ago. I think she is sheltering under the porch, but when I go out to try to approach her and coax her inside she takes off into the woods and I don’t see her again for hours. I have been leaving food and water for her and it is gone every morning. I would let her in and take care of her in a heartbeat. How can I help her survive outside in this weather?

Students, faculty and staff at Fairley Elementary School showed their appreciation for armed servicemen and women during a recent assembly. The patriotic event included a color guard, several local veterans (who were listed and recognized), a tribute to a former teacher and a song performed by the students.
