Fitzhugh Park Elementary School recently received a donation of brand new coats from Exelon Corporation, as part of a holiday coat drive. Exelon employees Karen Krakowka, Pam Schimd and David Mulchaey organized the coat drive to assist Fitzhugh Park students this winter season.
Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club recently presented dictionaries to the third
grade class at Maroun Elementary School in Phoenix.
Oswego City School District’s superintendent shared information regarding three programs designed to assist at-risk students around the county. One would be similar to the district’s former Buc School program. Another would focus on incarcerated youth. The third would be a transitional behavioral school for elementary students throughout the county. The districts and CiTi would share the costs.
Pack your bags, it’s time to travel the world! The Children’s Museum of Oswego’s annual winter program will take place December 26 through January 4 at 7 W. Bridge St. This year’s program, “Take a Trip Around the World with CMOO,” gives children and families a unique opportunity to explore two floors of interactive exhibits as well as daily programming exploring cultures from around the world.
Food and craft vendors, musical performances and treasure hunts are a few of the many events in store for Warm Up Oswego to be held on February 7. The Oswego Network of Entrepreneurs was invited to take on Warm Up Oswego for 2015, the 10th anniversary of the event.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, President Dennis Goss, on behalf of Sunrise Rotary, presented a donation to Sarah Tyron from Oswego County Catholic Charities to assist the Food Pantry.
Residents at Morningstar Residential Care enjoyed an afternoon of Christmas carols and holiday favorites during sing-a-long with Santa. The sing-a-long helped kick off the final countdown to Christmas.
Ali McGrath, resource development director for the United Way of Greater Oswego County announced that Excellus BlueCross BlueShield has once again lent its support as Leadership Giver for United Way’s Annual Campaign.
This fall was slightly warmer than average. And, even though we received more snowfall than normal, it was drier as well. The warmth will linger into the first days of winter and may result in a green Christmas.
