Janet H. Hawley, 82, former Phoenix, town of Granby resident, passed away at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center, in the town of Geddes, on Sunday December 14, 2014.

Marcy A Leroux Craven, 64, of Fulton, and formerly of Middleburgh, Fla., departed this life unexpectedly on Saturday December 13, 2014.
Dorothy Jean Johnson, 90, a resident of Oswego, passed away Sunday December 7, 2014, after a brief illness.
The selection process began back in October when students with a weighted average of at least a 90% from their freshmen and sophomore years were invited to complete an application for induction into the honor society. After applications were received, a faculty committee was formed to review the applications and assess the student’s demonstration service, character, citizenship and leadership.
The Oswego Elks Lodge #271 and Oswego ARISE teamed up recently to build three ramps for the disabled. The Oswego Elks made this possible by applying for two grants from the Elks National Foundation. The lodge was awarded $2,000 each from the Beacon and Gratitude grants.
The Central Square Urgent Care Center, located at 3045 East Ave., in Central Square will be open December 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Fulton Urgent Care Center, located at 510 S. Fourth St. in Fulton, will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Day.
Oswego Hospital will host an American Red Cross blood drive for two days during the upcoming Christmas holidays. Community members can donate a pint of blood from 2 to 6 p.m. on December 26 or from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. December 29.
The Fulton Noon Rotary Club hosted two very talented seniors from G. Ray Bodley High School.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee presented June Alton with a certificate of appreciation for her 20 years of service. Alton is a probation officer with the Oswego County Probation Department.
The Oswego County Legislature approved a new fee schedule for changes to tax maps for subdivisions at its Nov. 13 meeting. The new fees take effect Jan. 1. The resolution authorizes the Real Property Tax Office to require any subdivision that requires a change to a tax map to be filed in the Real Property Tax Office with a fee before it is filed with the Oswego County Clerk.
