Laker men’s ice hockey downs Cardinals

The nationally-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team controlled action all night as it downed No. 4/4 Plattsburgh 3-1 on Friday at Stafford Ice Arena. With the win over the rival Cardinals, the No. 6/8 Lakers improve to 6-1-2 on the year and 4-1-1 in SUNYAC action while handing Plattsburgh (8-2-0, 7-1-0) just its second loss of the season.

Oswego State women’s ice hockey team surges over Neumann

The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team used a third-period offensive surge to move past host Neumann University 4-1 on Friday night at IceWorks Skating Complex. With the victory, the Lakers have won four-straight games and improve to 6-2-0 overall and 4-1-0 in conference action. The Knights’ loss drops their records to 1-8-1, 1-6.

Tora! Tora! was the Japanese code word made famous when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 propelling the United States into World War II. The term means “tiger” but, in this case, it was an acronym meaning “lightning attack.” On December 11, 1941, President Franklin Roosevelt declared war on Japan; in return, on the same day Germany and Italy, Japanese allies, declared war on the United States.

Visiting Pearl Harbor on the Hawaiian island of Oahu is a profound experience and visitors should plan to spend the better part of the day there because there is a lot to see and do.

Fulton Police Charge Man in Larceny of Galisano Children’s Hospital Donation Jar

Fulton Police today (Dec. 5) arrested Mark Isdell, of Fulton, following a report of a person who stole the Galisano Children’s Hospital Donation Jar from the counter of Burger King. According to police, on November 24, at about 9:30 p.m., Isdell walked into Burger King located at 204 S. Second St., and stole the Jar containing approximately $50 in donation money.
