Fulton Budget Passes With 800-Pound Gorilla

After a sometimes contentious but overwhelmingly positive public hearing where taxpayers covered nearly every line of the mayor’s 2015 proposed budget, councilors unanimously passed the $15.7 million spending plan. “The 800 pound gorilla is public safety,” Republican Committee Chairman Mark Aldasch said. “We have the highest taxes and there’s no jobs here. And no job is going to come here with the taxes being the way they are.”

Holzwarth competes on SUNY Oneonta women’s cross-country team

Megan Holzwarth a Graphic Design major from Central Square was a member of the 2014 SUNY Oneonta women’s cross-country team. The team competed in eight meets this fall and finished in second place at the SUNYAC Championships and had its best finish of third place at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships.

Members of the Oswego High School Interact Club recently assisted the Sunrise Rotary Club with its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser held at The Oswego Tea Company. Students, working with Rotary members, took part in all aspects of the event, including ticket sales, preparation, cooking, serving and cleanup.
