Health Department Announces Clinic Services for Week of March 23

For the fifth consecutive year, the program will help provide haircuts during Oswego’s St. Baldrick’s Day fundraiser, scheduled for April 12 at 1 p.m. at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center.
The third annual Oswego Paddlefest is set for July 11 along the Oswego River and is forecasted to have an even larger turnout in 2015. The event gives paddlers of canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards of all ages and abilities the opportunity to paddle sections of the Oswego River and through the locks as a group, followed by food and music at Wright’s Landing.
39 Ithaca College students participated in the college’s Alternative Spring Break program.
The musical work, composed and directed by Michael A. Bolio, and featuring the talents of the Christian rock band The Sent Forth, will play for one performance on Good Friday, April 3, in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, 1408 NY Route 176. Curtain time for the performance is 7:30 p.m.
The average temperature was 3.6 degrees below average. Precipitation, however, was 1.64 inches below average, thanks to much of the snowfall being of the light and fluffy lake effect variety.

Fitzhugh Park Elementary student Alix Pauldine recently captured second place in the New York State competition of the National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice. Pauldine’s winning artwork competed with 40 other submissions from across the state.
The Oswego Evangelical Alliance of churches will come together for a community Good Friday service on April 3 at 7 p.m. at the Oswego Alliance Church, 371 Thompson Road in the town of Oswego.
Paula Demm of Burke’s Home Centers in Oswego and Fulton presented Oswego County Opportunities’ Cancer Services Program Partnership coordinator Carolyn Handville with a donation of two $50 gift certificates for free drawings during the program’s free colon and prostate cancer screening event to be held March 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. at AMP Urology, 806 W. Broadway.
