Sandy Creek Middle School Students Become Iron Chefs

As part of the consumer science curriculum in the Sandy Creek Central School District, eighth graders recently showcased their cooking and collaboration skills in an “Iron Chef” competition.

Just like the Food Network television show bearing the same name, students in Marissa Paquin’s family and consumer science class were given a secret ingredient (apples) to incorporate into their dishes.

Ho Chi Minh City has been the official name since the fall of Saigon in 1975 but both are in use. Once again being a loyal customer paid off. We had a free night with InterContinental Hotels due to using their credit card and being a member of their IHG Rewards Club so we booked a room at the InterContinental Asiana Residence. We didn’t realize just how lucky we were until we saw our accommodation. We had two huge rooms.

Goalkeeper Smith Becomes Oswego State Women’s Ice Hockey’s First All-American

The Oswego State women’s ice hockey program earned its first All-American on Thursday night as the Lakers’ lone senior, Bridget Smith, was named First Team All-America East by the American Hockey Coaches Association at the 2015 NCAA Division III Championship pre-tournament banquet in the Angell College Center’s Warren Ballrooms on Plattsburgh’s campus.

OFD’s Fire Inspection Program, Safety Through Compliance

If you are a business owner or property manager in the city of Oswego, chances are you’ll be involved in a fire inspection soon. In an effort to prevent fires and injuries, the Oswego Fire Department has streamlined its fire inspection program resulting in efficiency and ultimately, increased safety. According to Oswego Fire Department Chief Jeff McCrobie, “We identified some opportunities with how we were conducting fire inspections, along with the follow-up process.”
