This year’s Oswego City Bike Rodeo, co-sponsored by the Oswego Fire and Police departments and Oswego County Traffic Safety Board, will be held on June 5. It will take place from 5 – 8 p.m. in the lot adjacent to the East Side Fire Station in Oswego – rain or shine.

The 25th Annual Lady Buccaneer Softball Mini Camp will be held June 29 – July 1 at the Oswego High School fields for girls ages 9-16 who want to sharpen their skills and have some softball fun. There will be nine hours of quality instruction throughout the three-day camp.

Oswego Health will host a career fair for registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nurse aides from 4:30 until 7 p.m. May 20 at the Ruby Tuesday’s Restaurant on Route 104 east in Oswego.

“After consulting with our engineers we have determined the upper deck is beyond repair and must be demolished,” said Louis Fournier III, president of The Sutton Companies. “The work will be completed in two phases. The first phase includes installing temporary fencing, steel bracing and other temporary protection measures to keep the site safe and prepare for the removal of the upper deck. This phase will begin on Monday, May 18.”

Albany’s history spans four centuries. Commissioned by the Dutch East India Company in 1609 to report on the new world, Henry Hudson sailed the Half Moon to the upper reaches of the Hudson River. He told of the magnificent river and the bountiful area.
Oswego County Opportunities recently honored a longtime volunteer with the Distinguished Volunteer Award for going above and beyond in offering his time to support the agency’s fundraising efforts. Henry “Hank” Wood, the husband of OCO Administrative Assistant Diane Wood, has helped with the agency’s annual Bowl-A-Fun for many years.
