The group meets the first Tuesday of the month to give caregivers an opportunity to share information and discuss their experiences.
The Fulton City School District held a local career fair on May 14. Hosted at the Fulton Junior High School, 12 local businesses presented at the event. “It’s nice to know what we have available locally,” said parent Mary Jane Porter. Attendees had the chance to hear from various businesses.
Bishop’s Commons Enriched Living Residence in Oswego will kick off a summer-long speaker series especially for seniors with an informational forum entitled, “Understanding Advanced Care Planning,” presented by local attorney Sara E. Davis.
Proceeds from the Oswego County Hospice Cup Regatta benefit Hospice patients and their families.
The Water Street Cafe is a new addition to the Old City Hall Tavern serving up delicious pub fare. Old City Hall has quite a significant location and rich history to Oswego. Old City Hall earned it’s name through the building serving as Oswego’s City Hall. Currently open mic night is hosted in the pub which is a great attraction for the whole town. Oswego Speedway’s Port City 160 ‘Super Spectacle’ on May 23 will be a historic evening, on more than one account. Not only will the Memorial Day Weekend thriller feature the ISMA Supermodifieds and Oswego’s Novelis Supermodifieds on the same track, same night for the first time in over ten years, it will also feature four fully restored Jim Shampine racecars – all together for the first time in one location.
Tom Drumm said new ideas and energetic new leaders are just what Oswego County needs. The fifth generation Oswego native announced his candidacy for the county legislature’s 16th District with a promise to “change the narrative” of politics in Oswego County.
Nearly 90 Oswego County business owners, elected officials and community leaders left a recent tourism ambassador program at the Tailwater Lodge with increased awareness, enthusiasm and excitement about Oswego County and its tourism industry. “This was by far the best conference/workshop I have attended in decades. The networking alone made the day worthwhile,” said one guest.
Nearly three dozen students from around the county took control the of the May meeting of the Oswego County Legislature. The students sat with their legislator counterparts and cast their votes during the meeting. The students said they appreciated the chance to sit in on an actual county meeting and vote for their legislators.
