With some help from visiting family members, fourth grade students at Fairley Elementary School recently created uplifting projects in art class. Tying in with the theme of the school’s upcoming art show, students created paper mache hot air balloons.
The hallways of Granby Elementary School were bustling with excitement recently, as parents explored their child’s classroom and perused some of the projects that have been completed throughout the school year.
As part of the Consent Decree, the sewer separation project will be smoke testing in the First and Third wards starting Tuesday (May 12) and ending on Friday.

The H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego invites residents and visitors alike to join us as we kick off the 2015 summer season the weekend of May 16 and 17, from 1-5 p.m. As part of the celebration, the maritime museum, which includes the main exhibit building, the National Historic Landmark World War II Tugboat “LT-5” and NYS Derrick Boat No 8, will be open free of charge both days.
Sara Medrano is a member of Oswego County AmeriCorps, which serves youth by providing mentoring, fitness and nutrition activities. Medrano is volunteering with AmeriCorps at New Haven Elementary School.
Local author Spider Rybaak and fishing guide Michael McGrath will hold several free fishing clinics for children again this summer. Children learn to fish for bass, carp and other species using live bait and lures. All bait and tackle is provided.
The course is scheduled to begin June 1. The classes will be held at Oswego Falls Business Center, 163 S. First St., Fulton, from 6 to 9:30 p.m., June 1 through 5 and June 6 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
