Oswego Speedway’s 65th consecutive season of racing will take the green flag Saturday night in a big way with the season openers for the Novelis Supermodified and Pathfinder Bank Small Block Supers as well as the 75-lap Race of Champions Modified Richie Evans Memorial.
It’s hard to believe, that in many places across the county, many women are still being paid less than their male counterparts for the same work. In fact, repeated studies have shown that despite a 50-year-old federal law aimed at prohibiting paycheck discrimination, women continue to earn just 78 cents for every dollar paid to men doing the exact same job.

A SUNY Oswego student brought home top prize in the student competition at the Oswego International War of 1812 Symposium for the second consecutive year. Senior Shannon Cilento won the contest with her paper and presentation, “From Rebels to Patriots: Daniel D. Tompkins and the Involvement of Oswego in the War of 1812.”
A performance weaving together folktales, music and art captivated students at Emerson J. Dillon Middle School on Monday. The program, “StoryFaces,” featured sixth and eighth grade students as they were transformed into characters and scenes from different folktales.
Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation students enrolled in the Stepping Stones Day Program at Fourth Street School in Fulton recently participated in Hoops for Heart, a fundraising challenge through the American Heart Association. Hoops for Heart promotes physical activity and heart healthy living, as well as raises funds to help combat heart disease and stroke treatment and prevention.
