The Fulton Amateur Radio Club will be starting a Technician Class on September 14, from 7 to 9 p.m., and run through November 30. The last test will be on December 7 (weather dependent). The class will be held at the Oswego County office building across from Mimi’s restaurant in Fulton.
Fulton’s Community Ice Arena was the hot spot for job seekers on Tuesday. Hundreds of area residents came looking for employment. Senator Patty Ritchie hosted the Oswego County Career Fair. The event brought a better turnout than expected, according to Sarah Compo, the senator’s communications director.
Oswego Middle School faculty and staff recently rallied in support of Sydney Terpening, an eight grader at the school. Terpening, a competitive speed skater, is currently training to achieve her dream of qualifying for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
The Oswego Public Library’s Library Learning Center will offer a three-part eBay Basics workshop on July 6, 20 and 27. Each class is free and runs from 2 to 4 p.m.

All martial arts teaches self-discipline, courtesy and respect. But the instructors at Master Pryor’s Taekwondo America want to make sure the kids remember what’s important in the community and the world around them. They recently encouraged their leadership group to organize and implement a community service project. When Zach Kinney (age 11) and Sage Moody (age 9) heard about the project, they jumped at the chance to help out the Oswego Animal shelter.
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County 4-H Program is still accepting donations for fabric and other sewing items for its August fabric sale. The Oswego County 4-H Program will be accepting donations for this fabric sale until July 31.
The library will feature daily children’s programs for each weekday as well as special programs with the Dancing Bear Puppet Theater, the Everson Museum of Art, Tails and Tales Story Time, the Cornell University Cooperative Extension/ 4-H partnership, the Watertown Sci-Tech Center, and a finale event featuring local storytellers and musicians.
Lura M. Sharp Elementary School recently held its annual awards ceremony to recognize students for their academic, character and physical achievements. The event was kicked off by recognized students who excelled in physical education throughout the past year.
