The Fulton Art Association held its 42nd annual Members’ Show and Competition on May 16-17 in the Community Room at the Fulton Municipal Building.

SUNY Oswego’s Mentor-Scholar Program brought performing arts to Oswego Middle School students and SUNY Oswego undergraduates at two campus visits this spring. Members of Vocal Effect, the college’s show choir, facilitated a song-and-dance workshop in Swetman Gymnasium on campus

On Flag Day, June 14, from noon to 4:30 p.m., the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Oswego Lodge #271, will host a free U.S. Flag retirement program outside the entrance of Old Fort Ontario. The public is cordially invited to turn in their worn out flags for proper retirement by members of the Oswego Elks.

For adolescent survivors of sexual abuse, healing from this traumatic experience is often quite a difficult process. However, in times like these the services offered through the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County are able to provide the survivor with the tools necessary to expedite the healing process. One of those tools is the upcoming “Darkness to Light Workshop” that will be held June 30 at Fallbrook Recreation Center, 103 Thompson Road in Oswego.

The Frederick Leighton Elementary School Home and School Association will hold its 15th annual “All You Can Eat” Full Breakfast with the generous support of the Oswego Elks Lodge. The event will take place at the Oswego Elks Lodge on June 7 from 8:30 a.m. – noon.

It’s not too late. The Fulton City School District still has openings left in its Universal Pre-Kindergarten program. Children must turn four years old on or before December 1, 2015, to register for our Universal Pre-Kindergarten program.

Kingsford Park second grade students from the classrooms of Kelly Waite, Melissa Stafford and Taylor Castaldo recently visited historic Fort Ontario in Oswego as part of the students’ studies on the War of 1812.
