Electrical engineer, bestselling author and chief executive officer of the National Women’s Hall of Fame Jill Tietjen will present “Discovering Amazing STEM Women” at 6 p.m. Sept. 10, in the auditorium in the Marano Campus Center at SUNY Oswego. The event will be free and open to the public.
The Oswego Public Library’s Library Learning Center will be offering the following computer classes this September. Each class is free. Please sign up to reserve a spot.
City of Oswego Mayoral candidate Amy Tresidder addressed Rotary Club members recently. Tresidder spoke of her passion to improve the quality of living in Oswego.
“The goal of study was to develop a strategic regional tourism plan and apply for grant funding in the future,” said Janet Clerkin, tourism and public information coordinator for the Oswego County Tourism Office. “This project will give us information on where our visitors come from, how long they stay, how much money they spend, reasons for visiting, and more.” Recently, Clerkin shared some of the results of that study with the county’s Tourism Advisory Council.
Just a couple weeks ago Jimmy Phelps out of Baldwinsville won the ‘Big Show 7’ 100-lap Modified Super DIRTcar Series race at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway. Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway Phelps put another race in the victory column dominating the Tracey Road Equipment Modified feature.
