Wilma Coles celebrated her 90th birthday recently as part of the monthly birthday party at Morningstar Residential Care Center. Morningstar hosts a monthly birthday party in its Great Room for all residents celebrating a birthday that month.

A group meets the first Thursday of the month from 10 to 11 a.m.at Springside at Seneca Hill located halfway between Fulton and Oswego on Route 45A. The Oswego area group meets the third Wednesday of the month from noon to 1 p.m. and will hold its next meeting on October 21.

Today (Sept. 21), the Governor announced the nomination of 27 properties to the State and National Registers of Historic Places. Nominated in Oswego is the Fort Ontario Military Reservation. The nomination expands and replaces an earlier National Register listing to obtain a more accurate and inclusive boundary more reflective of the fort’s military history.
The First Ward Councilor suggested the restriction of access of DOT inspected vehicles in the First Ward (in residential sections), with the exception of emergency vehicles, that ferry college students to house parties. However, others pointed out that the parties were the real problem, not the buses.
