Porky and Buddy Pet Health – Are Human Meds OK For Dogs?

My dog, Alonzo, is about ten years old and all of a sudden he seems to be slowing down. He doesn’t seem to really like to go running with me any more and sometimes he sort of sighs and groans when he gets up out of his bed. I have a little arthritis myself and I just take Aleve for it and it seems to help. Can I safely give that to Alonzo? I hate to see him so uncomfortable.

Following a massive synthetic drug bust in New York City this past week, U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer, today (Sept. 20), called on the federal Drug Enforcement Agency to launch a special investigative unit dedicated to cracking down on the sale of synthetic marijuana. Former NASCAR Whelen Modified Champion Ron Silk to Make Supermodified Debut at Oswego Speedway on Sunday

With weather forcing the cancellation of Oswego Speedway’s Fall Championship 125 until Sunday, September 20, the door has opened for former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Ron Silk to make his Novelis Supermodified debut at the ‘Steel Palace.’ Silk will pilot the Graham Racing No. 21 Supermodified on Sunday as a substitute for Kody Graham, who cannot make the rescheduled event.

American Heart Association advocates gathered on the steps of the New York State Department of Education Building on Sept. 17, to celebrate the implementation of CPR in Schools. The Board of Regents approved the regulation that means that all students will learn Hands-Only CPR before graduating from high school.

Regents put final stamp of approval on CPR in Schools Law

Dominic’s room in Queens is the same as it was when he left for college in 2009. He never lived in that room again – sudden cardiac arrest claimed his life on October 5, 2009. But thanks to action that the New York state Board of Regents took Sept. 17, lives like Dominic’s have a better chance of being saved. The Regents approved the regulation that will make CPR in Schools part of the school curriculum beginning Oct. 7.
