CiTi, the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation held an open house recently for families of students and members of the community to see the results of the buildings remodel and to boast the many services they offer. Located at the Mexico campus, CiTi (formerly known as Oswego BOCES) serves over 1,000 students every day from nine school districts in the county.
Students in Erica Bertrand’s sixth grade class at Granby Elementary School recently learned key elements of news writing from community member Brittney Jerred.
According to www.attendanceworks.org, studies show that missing school correlates with achievement gaps and high school dropout rates across the country; that is why the Fulton City School District celebrates school attendance every September in honor of Attendance Awareness Month.

Milton E. Marsh, 94, of Main Street, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY. He resided in Sterling and was a graduate of Hannibal High School.
When John and I visited Sodus Point it was a beautiful sunny day. The lake was calm, there were a couple sailboats enjoying the day, and all was peaceful. Things were very different during June 1813. During the War of 1812, the frontier villages along the lake’s shore were aware of the danger with the British fleet never too far away. Some government stores were kept at Sodus Point and it was the policy of the British officers to commandeer the stores if they found the place undefended, by force if necessary.
Grants may be from any number of places. They could be private or state or federal. The key words are “They don’t have to be paid back.” If it is money that has to be paid back it is a loan not a grant.
