Light Up Oswego and the annual tree lighting will take place this year on November 28. This is a free family event meant to encourage everyone to get out and enjoy the holiday season together as a community. The celebration will kick off the holiday season in Oswego with activities beginning as early as 10 a.m. that day.
Thursday (November 19), marks the 39th anniversary of the reported disappearance of Oswego resident Dean Heagerty.
Dean was 19 years old at the time he was reported missing.
He was 6’1” tall with blue eyes and shoulder length blond hair. He was believed to be hitchhiking shortly before being reported missing to authorities.

A tremendous crowd gathered on Sunday at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego to recognize and honor the record number of competitors that participated in the 2015 racing season at Oswego Kartway. Champions were declared in 26 different categories between the Kartway’s 2015 Driver’s Championship and the inaugural Summer Shootout Series.
For more than 50 years, the Scriba Christmas Project has provided some Christmas cheer for disadvantaged residents. The 2015 edition is ready again to channel the goodwill of its residents and businesses toward those less fortunate in Scriba.
